Road Closure Notification - 7 September 2024

Please be aware that East Coast Pride is on Saturday, 7 September 2024. The event's zones will be spread across five locations in Skegness, including Tower Gardens, The Hildreds Centre, Compass Gardens, and the RNLI Lifeboat Station.

One of these locations is Grand Parade (between the Clock Tower and Scarborough Esplanade). As part of the event, Grand Parade will be closed to road traffic from 21:00 on Friday, 6 September, until 03:00 on Sunday, 8 September.

This means there will be no daytime traffic disruption on either Friday, 6 September or Sunday, 8 September, minimising impact across the town.

Access to the South Parade Car Park and Embassy Car Park will be unobstructed during this time. East Coast Pride is working with Highways and Traffic Management organisations to ensure minimal disruption. The Clock Tower Roundabout will not be disrupted. However, there will be no entry to Grand Parade as this is where the road closure will commence.

Additionally, access to McDonalds' Drive-Thru and Car Park will be unobstructed. When leaving McDonalds, there will be No Left Turn, and all traffic must go towards North Parade or Scarborough Avenue.

Traffic Management will put out signage to identify the diversions around the affected area.

East Coast Pride 2024 is hosted just after the peak summer season. Although we expect increased visitor numbers as part of the event, we do not anticipate widespread disruption to traffic flows as part of the road closure.
