SECURITY & SAFETY

Will there be bag searches?

All of our spaces are public spaces, so there are no entry or exit gates. However, for your safety, our security may ask to check your bags across the East Coast Pride sites. Please understand that this is for your safety, so please respect our security team if they ask..

If you don’t need to bring a bag with you then don’t bring one. â€‹

Safety and Security.

We work closely with the Lincolnshire Police and other organisations and have a range of measures in place to ensure your safety and security. These include our highly trained security personnel, bag searches and CCTV across the site – as well as other measures that may not be visible.

Our Safety and Security Teams.

Our highly trained teams of stewards and security staff work alongside police officers, the emergency services and event organisers – so if you see anything you think may be suspicious, please do not hesitate to find someone to help.

All stewards and security staff are able to communicate, via their supervisors, to the Event Control Room, as well as the police, via radio and other channels. Our Event Control Room also has access to CCTV to help keep you safe.

Our stewards and security staff are aware that not everyone is familiar with the event site layout, so will be keeping their eyes open for anyone who may need some assistance or directions. They may even approach you to offer help if they think you may need it or are lost – so don’t be surprised if they pop up to say hello!

You can expect to see members of the police force in and around the event. There’s no need to be concerned about the police presence – they are there to help you feel safe and to support us in delivering a secure and successful event. Be aware that there may also be police dogs patrolling the entrances and site area, but please be assured that they are friendly with very experienced handlers.

Festival Entry – passing through security.

Because of the measures we have in place at all entrances, event attendees need to allow extra time to pass through our security arrangements where searches may also take place. You can help this process go more smoothly and avoid delays by ensuring you don’t have any prohibited items with you and complying with any instructions the search teams may give you.

Prohibited Items.

Please note you may be searched on entry to the event enclosure on Pride Street. Any items that may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. No responsibility is given for the return of confiscated items. If you are in possession of illegal substances, you may be arrested.
